Silicon carbide (SiC) refractory castable is a type of refractory materials primarily composed of silicon carbide as the main raw material, characterized by high wear resistance, excellent thermal conductivity, and superior corrosion resistance. They are widely applied in wear-prone areas across industries such as steel, glass, ceramics, and cement. ·High wear resistance: Exhibits exceptional abrasion resistance due to SiC’s Mohs hardness of 9.2 and dense microstructure, suitable for high-wear environments. ·High thermal conductivity: Thermal conductivity ranges from 58.6 W/m·K (pure SiC) to optimized values in composite formulations, enabling efficient heat transfer. ·Corrosion resistance: Resists chemical attack from acidic/alkaline slags and molten metals, even at temperatures up to 1600°C.
Steel Industry: Used in wear-resistant areas of blast furnaces and hot blast stoves.
Glass Industry: Applied in Abrasion-resistant zones in glass melting furnaces.
Ceramics Industry: Used in high wear areas in ceramic kilns.
Cement Industry: Utilized in wear-resistant linings for cement rotary kilns.
